qualifications
trail work
Entrants get to do 8 hours of trail work. This trail work must be completed between August 1, 2025 and June 14, 2026 and done with an organized work party such as the PCTA, WTA, or other trail work organization.
Volunteering, crewing or pacing at a race does not qualify as trail work.
Race qualifier
If entrants have ever run an 100 mile trail run, they qualify (but still need to submit that in the race qualifier form). If not, entrants must complete an organized or self-supported (with Strava track or equivalent verification) trail 50-miler within 16 hours that has at least 6,500' of climbing and must be between January 1 and June 14 of the year in which they wish to race.
You have the option of buying out the trail work requirement by making a $150 donation which will be directly sent to one of the trail work organizations that Cascade Crest 100 supports.
Note that trail work buyouts are not refundable in the event of withdrawal from the race.
Deadline for Race Qualifications: June 14, 2026

The fine print
deferral
If you’ve had a significant and/or unexpected life event, deferrals will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please send an email to the RD at info@cascadecrest100.com to inquire.
cancellation + Refund
Anyone dropping out by June 14 will receive a $150 refund of entry fees. After June 14, a $50 refund will be given until the waitlist closes on July 12th.
Transfers
Registrations are non-transferable, and no credits will be issued.
Race cancellation
If we have to cancel the race for any reason, if it's more than 30 days before race day, we will offer a 50% refund of your registration (less fees). If it's within 30 days of the race, we are unable to offer refunds but you will receive a guaranteed entry (bypassing the lottery) for the following year only. Please note: you will need to pay the full registration fee again when you register for the following year's race.
waitlist
When the lottery is run, a maximum of 300 people will be placed on the waitlist. If you are not selected as an entrant or for the waitlist, you will not be added to the waitlist later in the year. However, you will not lose your accumulated entry tickets for future lotteries.
For those on the waitlist, when a confirmed runner cancels their registration, a waitlist registrant may be invited to register and take their place.
If you are moved off the waitlist, you will have 2 days to confirm and accept the invitation before the runner in the following position on the waitlist is invited.
Please check your Ultrasignup email account! A healthy number of runners move through the waitlist each year. So be ready!
lottery tickets
Here's how the lottery ticket system works. If you start the race, your ticket count returns to zero.
Entry Tickets (Accumulate Over Time)
First year entering: 1 ticket
Each additional year you enter without starting the race: Your entry tickets double
Year 1: 1 ticket
Year 2: 2 tickets
Year 3: 4 tickets
Year 4: 8 tickets
And so on...
You can skip entering the lottery without losing your accumulated tickets
Volunteer Tickets (One-Time Bonus)
If you volunteered at race weekend the previous year, you receive bonus tickets for the current lottery only:
6-12 hours: 1 ticket
12-18 hours: 2 tickets
18+ hours: 3 tickets
Exceptional service (e.g., overnight shifts): 1+ additional tickets at Board discretion
Note: Volunteer tickets apply only to the lottery immediately following your volunteer service and do not carry forward.
Important Reminder: If selected to run, you must still complete and submit your race qualifier and trail work requirement by the stated deadline, regardless of how many years you've been in the lottery.
